For the hosts, Heinrich and Marlene, holiday on the farm with organic quality means consistency everywhere. Therefore, the holiday apartments in the historic Haus am Hof and also in the new Haus am Lebenberg have been wholly constructed from natural materials and furnished and fitted according to the same criteria. You are aware of this when in the evening after an exciting or sociable day of your holiday, your eyelids droop and you fall asleep. You sleep better close to Nature.
Holiday home with organic construction methods – architecture with foresight
Nature does not have the say in farming on the Oberglunigerhof farm.
The living concept
A sound sleep and a wholesome living atmosphere are a 'luxury' to which the Platter family want to treat their guests. At the same time they are making a valuable, sustainable contribution to the environment and support like-thinking businesses in the area, which cooperated on the construction and fitting out of the holiday houses.
In detail? The outer and inner walls are made from the purely natural materials, stone and wood, plastered and painted with clay and lime, which can breathe and therefore produce balanced atmospheric humidity in the rooms. The natural colours on the walls and the fixtures and fittings follow this desire for simplicity and sustainability. Therefore, the Platter family have "revitalised" furniture from matured timber and turned it into fixtures and fittings, which will last for centuries.
The soft textiles made from warm, high-quality fabrics also come from local producers, craftspeople and suppliers. The revitalised Grander® water and the switch independent of the power supply for electricity-free lines with no electro-smog are simply the icing on the cake of a wholesome atmosphere.
The Platter family's farm boasts more than 450 years of history and comfort. It has five designer apartments: each one is unique, and blends with style and harmony into the old structure of the house. Here and there the original masonry can be seen and instead of strictly measured angles and edges, exudes a unique, ancient, rustic feeling. The warm colours, the high-quality materials and the chic extras, carefully selected to provide an optical contrast, go together perfectly. Luxury for the eye and the mood.
In 2018 the Platter family also converted their former bed-and breakfast guest house into holiday apartments and rooms and this project pursued the same aims and interest in ecological, sustainable construction. The modern house has spacious areas of windows offering splendid views over the Val d’Adige between Bolzano and Merano and to the farm's orchards and vineyards and to Lebenberg Castle. Here also furniture made from matured timber harmonises with modern design elements and, as a special detail, the stately homes and castles of the region are displayed wall-sized on the photographic wallpaper. This also gives each residential unit its name. Every apartment and every room has a large terrace or a small garden, which leads directly on the south side to the pool.
